Your Action-Packed 3-Day Itinerary

Settle in, then stretch the legs on the trails!

Day One — Friday Afternoon Arrival

Get settled into your well-appointed suite or private vacation home, but don’t get too cozy. Get outside — and breathe in the refreshing Central Oregon air, where the sights and smells of the high desert are unmistakably tantalizing to the senses. Our location at the edge of the Deschutes National Forest provides a convenient gateway to the highly acclaimed Phils Trail network of biking, hiking, and running trails (BIG emphasis on biking). The expansive network provides access to dozens of miles of purpose-built trails. Our front desk staff can help make recommendations, and you can always consult the Bend Trails website or Trailforks for up-to-date conditions reports.

With your workout behind you, head over to The Row for a cold beer or cocktail, elevated pub fare, and lively conversation. From there, your dinner options are many: dine in on property, order to-go and enjoy back at your room, plan your next stop at Solomon’s, or head out on the town. It’s only day one, so live it up! After dinner, kick back at the outdoor fire pit and enjoy the stargazing opportunities under the beautiful Central Oregon sky — nightcap optional!

How Big do You Want to Go?

Day Two — Saturday

For the passionate golfer, there’s no better course in Central Oregon to put your skills to the test than Tetherow. Designed by critically acclaimed architect David McLay Kidd, the links-style course brings a Scottish sensibility to the high desert, where your game (and shot selection) will continually change as you navigate the creative course layout. Grab a breakfast burrito to go from The Row, opt for a Finn Scooter or GolfBoard instead of a cart, and get after it.

Whether you’re licking your wounds after the round or shifting your sights toward a professional career, it’s the perfect time to cool off. While the Tetherow Sport heated outdoor pool is always the perfect temperature year-round, the Big Eddy whitewater rafting section of the Deschutes River only runs during the summer and is the spot to add a dose of adrenaline to your post-golf cool-down. Book your reservations with the expert guides at Sun Country Tours, who will get you dialed in for this iconic 2.5-hour adventure.

After the float you’ll have likely worked up an appetite, but thankfully there is not shortage of amazing food options to choose from in Bend – from a host of award-winning craft breweries with delicious pub fare, to a proliferation of eclectic food trucks, to the diverse international restaurant scene serving authentic cuisine from around the world. Wherever you choose to dine, do it al fresco and soak up the sights and sounds of the warm Central Oregon summer nights.

If you planned this trip well in advance, you might be here to catch a show at the Hayden Home Amphitheater, which draws national touring acts that are quickly putting Bend on center stage as the premier outdoor concert destination in the Pacific Northwest. The summer lineups are always incredible, but our club scene offers a great live music scene too — we love the Volcanic Theater Pub for a more intimate venue and creative artist selection.

Elevate Your Scene and Cool Down

Day Three — Sunday

It’s been an adventurous few days in Bend, but you knew what you were in for when you booked this trip, so let’s finish off strong! Wake up your crew and head over to Sparrow Bakery in neighboring Northwest Crossing for an Ocean Roll or breakfast sandwich and a revitalizing cup of coffee. Then load up and head up the Cascade Lakes Highway to Mt. Bachelor for a morning full of adventure. You can rent downhill mountain bikes and protective gear from their Gravity Sports Pro Shop in the West Village base area and enjoy lift-served downhill laps at the Mt. Bachelor Bike Park. And if downhill laps aren’t your thing, check out the ZipTours Zip Line or scenic chairlift ride to the mid-mountain lodge. Be sure to catch a meal at the mountain as dining options are limited.

For your next and final port of call, keep driving west to one of the many scenic lakes for a refreshing swim, casual hike, or snooze on the beach. We love Elk Lake for its clear, refreshing water, beautiful views, and of course, the ice cream at the Elk Lake Marina helps to sweeten things up too.

Well, that’s a wrap! If you’re sore, slightly sunburned, and have an indelible smile on your face, you probably did it just right. Let’s have another Bend weekend soon!
