April Harvey Membership Coordinator

Welcome April, Tetherow’s New Membership Coordinator
By Jesslyn Gillespie

Tetherow welcomes our new Membership Coordinator, April Harvey!

Members are at the heart of our Tetherow community and Harvey is the person to keep the beat. Hailing from Monterey, California, this optimistic outdoorswoman graduated from San Diego State University with a Communications major and a go-getter attitude. She decided to visit Bend for her 24th birthday after seeing a photograph on Pinterest. Three years later, she now calls it home.

“I can’t imagine living anywhere else,” says Harvey. “I love Bend because of the small town vibes. The city was too big for me. I fell in love with the mountains here.”

In addition to running the Deschutes trails and listening to Garth Brooks, Harvey is an up-and-coming golfer. She is eager to hone her skills on our Championship-style course.

Her position at Tetherow involves organizing Member events and answering all of your questions about the various membership plans, whether you are a current or aspiring Member. Her goals include keeping the community tight-knit and adding more social events for families and children.

“I am up for any suggestions for social events that Members would like to see on the calendar.”

Harvey started the job with a bang. Her first week coincided with Burning Bush, Tetherow’s premier Member golf tournament. The event had its biggest player field yet and spanned four days with 69 teams, 138 players, and some eventful weather. The victors, Greg Hawkins and Rich Abel, won a 5,000-dollar gift certificate to Pebble Beach Resorts.

Burning Bush was closely followed up with the Fourth of July party, where Members, friends, and hotel guests celebrated the holiday together on the Lower Patio with a barbeque and fantastic views of the Pilot Butte fireworks. Harvey personally helped inflate giant hamster balls and paint children’s faces. And when her young clients made extra-creative requests—such as, “can you make me look like a talking frog”—she was game.

“We had such a great time, and although my face-painting skills are not always up to par, the kids still loved it.”

Harvey is impressed with Tetherow’s natural splendor and its sense of community. Her positive outlook and hard-working attitude have been warmly received. Right now, she is busy planning the grand opening of Tetherow Sport’s family-friendly hot tub, which should be completed later this summer. It’s sure to make a splash.

“Stay tuned,” says Harvey. “We have something super exciting [in the works]!”
